Huawei has started to roll out Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update for Huawei Honor 7 in India. However, to get the OTA (over-the-air) update, Honor 7 owners will need to register their phone’s IMEI number and the current software version with Huawei, which means the current deployment is a beta test of the firmware.

Along with Huawei’s EMUI 4.0, the new Android 6.0 update brings various new features, performance enhancements, bug fixes, add-ons, as well as Marshmallows native features like Doze mode, App permission, etc. to Honor 7.

Before you get start, please note that this is a beta test for Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and for select Huawei Honor 7 users in India, so, not all are eligible for the beta test. Such users are advised to wait for the final release, which may roll out in the next month.

How to install Android 6.0 OTA update on Huawei Honor 7

1. First, Honor 7 owners in India go here [HERE] and enter the current software version (go to Settings -> about phone), IMEI Number (dial *#06# to check the IMEI number) and your email address.

2. Once the registration is completed, you will receive the OTA update within 24-48Hrs.

3. If you have not received the OTA update notification, go to Settings -> About phone -> System update -> Check Now.

4. On getting the update notifications, select the ‘Yes, Download’ option. After downloading, select -> Install now.

Once the installation process is completed, your Honor 7 will restart automatically and the OS will be updated to the new version.

Note that, the current software update is a beta test for select users in India. The final version of the Android 6.0 update for All Honor 7 users will roll out next month or early February. (Source – fonearena)
