As expected, Motorola (Lenovo) will upgrade some of its popular Moto smartphones to the new Android 8.0 Oreo. The company officially confirmed Moto Z and Moto G 5 variants to get the Android 8.0 Oreo update, which includes all variants of Moto Z and Moto G5. Unfortunately, there is no indication about Moto G4 variants for Oreo update.
Below is the official list of Moto phones getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update. Though there is no mention about the exact ETA (expected time of arrival), previous records shows that the Oreo update will be starting in Q4 with Moto Z and Moto G 5th Gen. Most probably, Moto Z and Moto G5 variants will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update by December.
For now, Lenovo plans to upgrade the following Moto devices to Android 8.0 Oreo. However, things may change in the future.
Moto Z
Moto Z Droid
Moto Z Force Droid
Moto Z Play
Moto Z Play Droid
Moto Z2 Play
Moto Z2 Force Edition
Moto G5
Moto G5 Plus
Moto G5S
Moto G5 S Plus
The list includes 11 models, which means most Moto smartphones users can enjoy all the new features of Android 8.0 Oreo within the next few months.
