Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 starts receiving a new software update that brings two new features and various optimizations to the phone. The update comes as version 15.2016.1810.337 and available through OTA. Two new features that this update brings to the ZenFone Max Pro M1 are EIS (electronic image stabilization) for camera and Live wallpaper support.
ZenFone Max Pro (M1) was released in May 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. This budget and best performing device has recently updated with October 2018 security patch and fix for battery consumption issue (15.2016.1810.334).
The new update (15.2016.1810.337) includes the following changelogs:
– Enables EIS feature on cameras
– Support Live Wallpaper feature
– Improves ringtone issue on answer-calls with Bluetooth
– Fix Wi-Fi compatibility issue with ASUS AC51U
– Fix FM Radio issue
The new update (build 15.2016.1810.337) starts rolling out via OTA (over-the-air) and weighs around 82.74MB. If you haven’t received the update notification on ZenFone Max Pro M1, check it manually by going to Settings -> About – > System Update. Alternatively, you can download the full update file (1.6 GB) and install manually.

How to Install Firmware Update Manually on ZenFone Max Pro M1
Note: Check your SKU version (for example WW). Please update the same SKU version only.
1. Download WW_15.2016.1810.337 firmware update zip file from here (link will be update soon).
2. Double click the downloaded firmware zip file to see another zip file it. If another zip file found inside it, unzip the downloaded firmware zip file
3. Connect the phone to your PC, move the update zip file to the root directory of your phone’s internal storage and then disconnect the phone from PC.
4. You will see firmware update notification popped up on status bar. Select it and follow steps to update firmware. After completing the installation, your phone will reboot into the new version.
