Good news for Asus ZenFone Max M2 owners –your camera will get AI Scene Detection feature with January 2019-security update. Asus starts rolling out the January security update and it is available for ZenFone Max M2 ZB633KL variant. The update comes with build number 15.2016.1901.156 and rolling out through OTA.
The most important changes of this update are latest January 2019 Android security patches and AI Scene detection for Camera. While the security patch enhances security on the phone, the AI Scene detect feature suggests a suitable preset mode when you take photos.

A couple of days back Asus rolled out January security update for ZenFone Max Pro M2. If you own this device and won’t get the update yet, check our previous post. The update (15.2016.1901.186) includes AI Scene Detection, power consumption improvements and more.
If you own ZenFone Max M2 and have not received the OTA, then check for the update manually. To do so, go to Settings > System > System updates to check for the update.
Download and flash the update manually
1. Download latest software update (ZB633KL_ WW_15.2016.1901.156) for Asus ZenFone Max M2 from Asus website.
