Back in 2016, Google released their one-to-one video calling app dubbed “Duo” for Android and iOS devices. Now, the PC version of Duo web app is available, so you can use your favorite video calling app on your desktop and laptop. Here is how to use Google Duo on your desktop and laptop and make video call from the comfort your PC.
Duo web app supports all desktop platforms such as Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and Chrome OS. In addition, it works with all major browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari browsers. Microsoft Edge browser not support (Microsoft will replace Edge with Chromium based browser soon). Read on to know how to use Google Duo video calling app on your PC.
How to Use Google Duo on Desktop
1. First, you will need to link Duo to your Google account. To do so, open the Duo app on your phone, tap the tree dots menu > Settings > add account and agree terms and conditions.
2. Now, go to duo.google.com page and sign-in with your Google account.
3. If ask, enter your Duo phone number to verify it in the next page.
3. After signing in, Duo asks to send notifications to your browser. Just select ‘Yes’.
4. Within a few seconds, your contacts will synchronize with Duo web app.
You are now ready to make Google Duo video and audio calls from your desktop and laptop. To make a call, click on a contact, grant permission to access camera and mic of your PC and you are ready.

How to add a Duo shortcut on desktop and laptop
If you want to use Google Duo without opening your browser, you can create a shortcut of it on your PC. To do so, on your Chrome browser, sign into duo.google.com page and click the three vertical dots menu.
Select “More tools” and then click “Create shortcut”. Give a name for shortcut (e.g. Google Duo) and click the box “Open as window”. It will create Duo shortcut on your desktop. Just click on it to open Duo on your PC.
Google Duo is extremely simple, fast and reliable and the service offers better audio and video quality, even on slow internets connections. You can video call and audio call to anyone in your contact list, if he/she has Duo installed on his or her device. It only works with phone numbers saved in your contact list, just like WhatsApp calling.
Update: Google Duo now supports group calling. You can create a group of 12+ participants at a time and it works on Android, iPhones, iPads and tablets. The group call functionality currently not available for Duo for Web or desktop.
