One of the most common complaints aimed at Windows 8 is the new Start screen. Though this is the full-screen replacement for the Start menu, many people just don’t get on with it. However, it’s possible to get an old style start menu back in Windows 8 using third-party tools.

I had mentioned several third-party tools in previous post, which can bring traditional start menu back in Windows 8. Here is another, little tool called “Metro Menu” to bring start menu like feature to Windows 8.

As it name means, this little tool has a “Metro” interface and lets you quickly access commonly needed items such as Documents, Computer, Control Panel, etc. It also brings back the Windows shutdown dialog box to the start menu.

Metro Menu for Windows is very simple to use. It requires no installation. Just download the zip file and extract it to a directory. Just run the exe file or right click the exe file and click “Pin to Taskbar”. That’s all!
