Adaptive battery is an important feature of Android 9 Pie that not only helps extend the battery life on the device, but it also enhances system performance by shutting down unused apps running in the background. Adaptive battery is a refined version of Doze mode of Android Nougat and Oreo. It uses machine learning to shut down unused apps running in the background, there by extend the battery life and system performance.
As said above, Adaptive battery uses machine learning to limits the battery usage of applications that you don’t use much. Your phone learns how you use apps over time, and shifts priority to only apps that you use the most. Other app’s background process shuts down automatically to preserve battery.
However, in certain situation, there might have chances for recording a history of wrong app usage by your phone. In such a situation, the only solution is to clear the Adaptive Battery history from your phone.
By default, the Adaptive Battery feature is turned on. Though you can turn it off in the battery settings, there is no option to clear history. So to tackle this situation, either you need to wait for the system to learn the right app usage or follow the below method.

How to Clear Adaptive Battery History from Android 9 Pie
– Unlock your phone and head over to Settings app
– Tap on System tab and then Advanced
– Select Reset options, and tap Erase all data
Above is the only way to erase Adaptive Battery history from your phone runs Android 9.0 Pie. Since your phone learns your apps usage fast, it won’t take too long for it to start battery saving function put into effect.
