As promised earlier, Xiaomi starts rolling out the MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM update (MIUI V9.1.1.0) to Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. All users of these devices will get the update via OTA (over the air) in the coming days. Experienced users can download and install the MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM (MIUI V9.1.1.0) update manually on their device. Read on to know how it is.

MIUI 9 is said to be lightning fast in performance, has some UI changes and includes new features. You can enjoy features like Split screen, new animations, latest Google security patches, improved silent mode and more. The MIUI V9.1.1.0 Global Stable update for Mi 5/Mi 5s plus is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and includes October 2017 (1- 10 – 2017) security patches.

Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus Starts Getting MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM

For your information, last week Xiaomi rolled out MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM update for Redmi Note 4, Mi 6 and Mi Max 2. If you have not updated your device yet, check this guide.

Below is what is new in MIUI V9.1.1.0 Global Stable update, main change logs, download link and installation guide.

MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM comes with deep-level system optimizations, includes smart app launcher, home screen assistant, notifications filter, search for apps in the Dual apps mode, simpler Home screen editing, Split screen mode, and more alongside general bug fixes and optimizations.

Xiaomi Mi 5s users will get the MIUI 9 (MIUI V9.1.1.0 NAAMIEI) update via OTA (over-the-air), which weighs around 571 MB. Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus users will get the MIUI V9.1.1.0 NBGMIEI OTA update in the coming days and it weighs around 1.3 GB.

Note: If you have not received the OTA update notification on your device yet, check it by going to the about device section.

Please note that, if you are using older version of ROM (for example, MIUI 7 or MIUI 8 stable ROM), you should install the Fastboot ROM. Other users (runs on MIUI 8/9 Developer ROM) can install the updates via Updater app.
