Skype just announced the release of Android app which supports a wide range of Android phones running on Android OS 2.1 or later. Now you can stay in touch when you’re out and about.According to the Skype blog post “with the new app, you can make free Skype-to-Skype calls, and send and receive IMs for free, one-to-one or with a group. You can also call phones at Skype’s great rates – over WiFi or 3G”.

If you already use Skype on a computer, you’ll see your full contact list when you sign in to Skype on your Android phone. If not, you can set up an account and be ready to go in minutes.

You can download Skype for Android from the android market or Visit skype.com/m on your phone to download. However Skype is currently not available in the Android Market in China or Japan [via]
