If you requires complete privacy and security or want to bypass internet censorship while browsing the internet, a highly encrypted connection between your computer and the Internet is needed.

There are several VPN (virtual private network) services available for encrypting and anonymizing your internet connection, here I am talking about a free VPN service called proXPN (a high speed pro version has also there).

It is a very easy to use VPN service (US) which secures your existing internet connection by encrypting all user traffic tunneled via a secure gateway.pro-xpn

Installation and configuration of this program is quite simple. Just register a free account, then, after the installation of proXPN, enter your login details to connect the VPN service. Its performance is not bad at my end.

proXPN is free from viruses (check this Virus Total link. However check it with your own antivirus software before using) and can be download at source (More details).

  1. Proxpn is good but I am using Hotspot Shield Free VPN. However free version is ad supported, but its good from all other available free vpn’s. You can surf anonymously and access all blocked websites using HSS.

  2. @Kannan No offense, bad luck for me, connection failed from my macbook pro. “VERIFY ERROR: depth=0, error=unable to get local issuer certificate: /C=US/ST=CA/L=SanFrancisco/O=proXPN_Direct__LLC/OU=proxpn.com/CN=proxpn.com/name=proxpn.com/[email protected]

And I can’t change my password(even i input the right one), website page bug found. 🙂 proXPN guys, you’re welcome.

It seems proXPN limit the FREE users’ traffic. and of course, they have “proXPN Premium” account… also they DO have so called “friend invitation policy”…
