Redmi Note 5Pro is an affordable, feature packed handset that has recently updated to Android 8.1 Oreo (MIUI 9.5.4). The good news is that the handset now got official LineageOS support. You can now install official LineageOS 15.1 on Redmi Note 5 Pro. It not only brings Android 8.1 Oreo, but it will also bring stock UI, several LineageOS goodies, latest security patch and more to the handset.

Note that the status of the LineageOS 15.1 ROM is nightly, which means it is not stable yet. However, experience shows that Nightly builds are almost stable and ready to be used, if you ready to face few issues.
Installing custom ROM on Redmi Note 5 Pro isn’t a complicated process. In fact, it is necessary to unlock the bootloader and requires installing latest version of the TWRP on the device [guide].
Installation instruction:
First, download official LineageOS 15.1 build for Redmi Note 5 Pro (whyred) from here and Open Gapps (Oreo 8.1/arm 64) from here and transfer both zip files to your phone.
Now, boot your phone into TWRP (Press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power after switching off the phone), perform a factory reset (wipe Cache, System and Data partitions).
Now, select “Install” option, navigate and flash LineageOS zip file. Once done, flash Gapps zip file. Once the installation process finishes, reboot your phone to system. It will take several minutes to complete the booting process (source – lineageos)
