The MIUI team has released MIUI 8.2 Global stable ROM for another set of devices, which includes Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3 Prime and Redmi Note Prime. The MIUI 8.2.1.0 OTA (over the air) update starts rolling out and if your Mi device is running on the stock MIUI ROM, you will get the update (weighs around 1.3GB) in the coming days. Experienced users can also install the update manually.
The MIUI 8.2.1.0 update includes various new features, several optimizations and bug fixes. New features includes improved layout for toggles in the notification shade, full control over automated tasks, new system sounds and ringtones, swipe to delete option for lockscreen notifications, option to add battery saver toggle in the notification shade, antivirus scans for the apps installed not from Google Play, and more.
To install the MIUI 8.2.1.0 update, if your Mi phone is running on MIUI V5, MIUI 6, MIUI 7, or MIUI 8 Global stable ROM, go to ‘Updater’ app on your phone and check for updates. Users can also install the update via either faltboat or recovery method.
If your device is rooted and running on another custom ROM, then you can use the fastboot method to install stock MIUI 8.2.1.0 Global stable ROM on it, but it requires some technical expertise. You may follow this or this guide for details.
