Google Phone app, the default dialer app for Google Pixel, Nexus and Android One phones, launches beta program. This allows users to try out new features before they arrive for everyone. The first beta build (version 19) comes with some UI changes and new features. Anyone can sign up for Google Phone app beta program, but it is not recommended for your main phone.

The first beta version of Phone app comes as version 19, which brings new features in both UI and function. Main changes of this beta build includes bottom navigation bar (which was at top) and a new anti-spam filter that automatically filter suspected spam calls, so you will not be disturbed by spam calls.

Google phone app is one of the best dialer apps for Android. It features real-time spam protection, caller ID, call blocking, video calling (requires Duo), floating bubble, visual voicemail transcription (on some carriers), local directory feature and more.

Interested users can sign up for Google Phone app beta testing by going to Play Store, scroll down to the page and tap on “Become a beta tester” button. Alternatively, you can use this link.

Keep in mind that since this is the beta version of the app, you may come across issues while using it. The beta build is not recommended for your main phone. However, you can always leave the beta.
