Many Google apps already had a dark theme and now the Calculator app updated with a dark mode. The latest update for the calculator app adds a theme option in the settings menu from where you can enable the dark mode. The Dark theme will help users look at the screen at low light without eyestrain.

Besides the new color theme, the latest update for calculator app (version 7.6) adds a new font and support for the new language. It will also include various bug fixes and improvements. If you have not updated yet, go to Play Store and update the app.

Recently, Chrome for Android got black mode with version 74. Users can also switch their YouTube app, Phone app, Messenger, and Gboard to dark mode on their phone. Viewing a darker interface in a low-light environment is better for the eyes. It will also extend battery life on the phone with AMOLED display.

How to switch Calculator app to dark mode

To enable the dark theme on the calculator, open it, click three vertical dots and click “Choose theme”. Three options are available in the theme settings – light, dark and Set by Battery saver.

The upcoming Android Q may feature a system-wide dark theme. The first beta version of Android Q has the system-wide dark mode option but disabled for some specific reason. Google may include it in the stable build of the OS.
