Asus releases a new update for its mid-range device ZenFone Max Pro M2 that installs February 2019 security patch on the device and improves front camera quality. The update is still based on Android 8.1 Oreo and bumps the software version to 15.2016.1902.192. Users of both ZenFone Max Pro M2 variants – ZB630KL and ZB631KL start receiving the over the air update.
Android 9 Pie (EMUI version 9.0) update for Zenfone Max Pro M2 is expected to release soon. Asus started Android 9 Pie beta testing for the device via the Beta Power User Program. Check the previous post to know more about it. If everything goes fine, Asus will start full deployments of the stable Android 9 Pie update for the device.
The new WW-15.2016.1902.192 update improves the following items on the device:
1. Upgrade Touch FW
2. Improve front camera quality
3. Improve display in status bar
4. Upgrade Google security patch
Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 update 15.2016.1902.192 is currently available for IN, RU and WW SKU only. Check for the update by going to Settings > System > System updates to check for the update.

Installation Guide :
Before installing, check the SKU version of your device by going to Settings > About > software information > Build number. Wrong SKU may cause update failure.
1. First, after downloading the firmware zip file, double click the zip file to see another zip file it. If another zip file found, unzip the downloaded firmware zip file. If no zip found, no need to unzip it.
2. Transfer the firmware zip file to the root directory of your phone’s internal storage.
3. Disconnect your ZenFone from the PC. You will see firmware update notification popped up on the status bar.
4. If no pop up found, restart your phone.
5. Select the notification and follow steps to update firmware.
