ASUS’s latest flagships, Zenfone 5 series smartphones are receiving a new software update that brings a series of improvements for the camera and system. Asus Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5Z get new features for camera. Zenfone 5 Lite gets VoLTE support for some carrier. The update also includes general bug fixes and optimizations.
The most important changes that this update brings to Asus ZenFone 5 are better camera stability, new navigation bar gesture function and splendid new function. ZenFone 5 Lite gets APN update, and enables Open VoLTE function for Vodafone (Italy) and TIM (Brazil).
ASUS ZenFone 5Z will get new option to save photos in RAW file format, Panorama shooting mode and on/off button for EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization). This update (ZS620KL_ WW_80.11.37.95) will improve HDR functionality, auto exposure, photo sharpness, slow motion quality, and more on Zenfone 5Z.
Besides new features, stability and improvements for camera, the update will also improve Wi-Fi stability, and includes general bug fixes and latest security patches.
Asus starts rolling out the FOTA update for ZenFone 5 (ZE620KL_ WW_15.0619.1807.23), ZenFone 5Z (ZS620KL_ WW_80.11.37.95) and ZenFone 5 Lite (ZC600KL_ WW_14.0400.1806.051). As always, the firmware update rollout is incremental, so it will take few hours or even few days to reach the OTA on all devices.
If you have not received the OTA notification, check for the update manually. To do so, go to Settings > System > System updates to check for the update.
