Not all smartphones and tablets that run Google’s Android operating system support all apps and games available at the Android Market. Some apps may not work well on some devices. To help you, Google just implemented a new ‘device compatibility check’ feature to its web-based Android Market, which helps both consumers and developers alike.Device-compatibility-checkOn the left side of any application’s Market page, Google will show if your Android device will support that app or game. However, users need to sign-in through their Google account for this feature to work.

I think the main benefit of this new feature is, you don’t need to waste time installing an application that not work properly on your device, and developers don’t have to waste space in the software’s description page by listing names of all incompatible devices.[via]
