The recent Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 brings Screen off memo feature to the device. Screen off memo was one of the most exciting features of Samsung Galaxy Note 5. This feature lets you jot down something (phone number, address, or anything) quickly without having to first turn on the screen or unlocking the device.

The Screen off memo in Galaxy Note 4 (running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow) is turned off by default. Here is how to turn on this feature. Few weeks back Samsung has pushed Marshmallow update for Galaxy Note (for few regions only). Besides the Marshmallows native features like Doze, Now on Tap, etc. the update also brings new TouchWiz features like the Screen off memo to the device.

The working of ‘screen off memo’ or ‘screen off writing’ is simple. All you need to just eject the S Pen from your Note 4, write down on the screen with the pen and tap ‘Save’ to save your notes to S Note app. However, first you need to turn on the Screen off memo option.

How to turn on Screen off Memo in Galaxy Note 4

1. Update your Note 4 to Android 6.0.1 marshmallow

2. Go to Settings screen and tap on S Pen

3. Check the box next to Screen off memo.

Now you can write on your Galaxy Note 4 without having to first turn on the screen or unlocking the device. It means you can take a quick note without hassle.
