Google has updated Google app to version 5.8.45.19 with landscape mode for home screen and app drawer. Currently the update is available for Google app beta testers only. The new update not only bring home screen landscape mode, but it also bring a couple of new features to your phone, such as icon normalization, new animation for Now on tap, etc.
Home screen landscape mode can be a useful feature, if you use your phone as a navigation unit or a car stereo interface, and mounted it horizontally in your car dash, for example. Home screen landscape mode was a proposed feature for Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but Google skipped this feature in the final build for unknown reason.
Another interesting feature of this new update is icon normalization for home screen and app drawer. The new Google Now Launcher update will normalize icons size in both home screen and app drawer, so you will get a neat look.
