The recently implemented Android Auto Coolwalk user interface is now widely available on more cars. The Coolwalk UI or the Split-screen layout is neater and more organized. The large card in the new split-screen UI is navigation, and other cards, such as media control, appear on the other side. Now it is possible to change the Split screen layout in Android Auto.

As per your car’s driver seat location settings, the navigation card will appear left or right side of the split-screen layout of Android Auto. The media control will appear on the other side. This behavior has changed with the latest Android Auto 9.1 update. Now you can set navigation or media control closer to the driver side.
