Huawei launched a standalone System Update app, which is now available on Play store for download. The app supports all Huawei and Honor phones with Android 4.3 and above (EMUI version 3.0 and up). The System Update app detects new EMUI version for your device, download and install the update automatically as per your settings.

Huawei is one of the few manufactures who releases new update for their devices every so often. Each update will include bug fixes, optimizations and sometimes-new features and security updates. All these will enhance user experience. It seems that the new System Update app will make the update process easier.

Huawei System Update app checks for new updates, reminds you updates, and downloads and installs updates. You can set up System Update to install updates automatically at night when your device is not in use.

If you own a Huawei or a Honor phone and if it is running on Android 4.3 and above (EMUI version 3.0 and up), then download Huawei’s System Update app from Play Store here and check for new firmware update (new EMUI version) for your device.

It seems that, even if the “uninstall” button is present, it won’t be possible to uninstall the application from the smartphone, but all updates can be deleted and return it to the factory state.
