Asus ZenFone 3 ZE552KL variants have got new Android 7.0 Nougat update with improvements, bug fixes and latest security patches (patch level August 1 2017). The OTA (over the air) update starts rolling out and it will take a week or more for the system to complete the auto push. The Nougat update comes with build number WW-14.2020.1708.56 and updates all ZenFone 3 ZE552KL variants to latest version.
Besides general bug fixes, the WW-14.2020.1708.56 update improves system performance, fixes wallpaper resolution issue, and improves the stability of Gallery app on ZenFone 3. Also, the new update offers better security with the inclusion of Android patch level August 1 2017.
If you have not received the OTA update notification on your Asus ZenFone 3 ZE552K, check it by going to phone Settings > About > System Update > and check for update. Alternatively, tech-savvy owners can download and install the OTA update manually.

Important: Note: This guide is for Zenfone 3 ZE552KL and SKU WW only. Do not install the firmware on other SKU (CN, TW, etc.). Check the SKU by going to Settings > About > software information > Build number and see the software version for WW, CN, JP, etc.
How to Update Asus Zenfone 3 to Latest Version Manually

Note: Before proceeding with below steps, back up every data you have on the phone. Also, make sure at least 1.7GB free space remaining on the SD card.
1. Download Nougat update for Zenfone 3 ZE520KL from here, rename the downloaded firmware file to ‘update.zip’ and save it on your phone.
2. Boot your phone into recovery mode (Switch off the phone and turn on by pressing Power + Volume Up buttons together).
3. In recovery, choose Apply update from SDcard and then select the update.zip file.
4. After completing the installation, reboot your phone.
