Xiaomi Mi A3, the latest Android One smartphone from Xiaomi, is getting a new update with December 2019 security patch. It is still on Android 9 and no sign of Android 10 yet, but there is a big jump in the build version. December update carries the build number V10.3.12.0.PFQMIXM, while it was V10.3.9.0.PFQMIXM in November update.
The December 2019 security update for Mi A3 weighs around 94 MB in size and includes patches for several vulnerabilities and bug fixes. It is rolling out through OTA for global variant Mi A3. The European variant will also get a similar update anytime soon.
Mi A3 December OTA updates (build PKQ1.190416.001.V10.3.12.0PFQMIXM) start rolling out. If you don’t have the update yet on your Mi A3, check it by going to Settings > System > Advanced > System update.
Xiaomi has not yet announced any update schedule for Mi A3. We expect that the device will get Android 10 updates early January 2020. The December update would be the required prerequisite of installing Android 10, so all users are recommended to install the update.
