Xiaomi, the biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world, has announced a new operating system dubbed HyperOS for its smartphones. Based on Android and the self-developed Vela system, Xiaomi HyperOS replaces the current MIUI operating system, and the first device equipped with the new OS will be Xiaomi 14. As per the information leaked online, the HyperOS looks similar to MIUI, but there will be more customization options and design changes.

Though not much detail is available currently about the Xiaomi HyperOS and how exactly the new skin will differ from MIUI, it will feature more customizations and fresh designs. According to the company, “HyperOS is based on the integration of the deeply evolved Android and the self-developed Vela system, completely rewriting the underlying architecture and preparing a public base for the Internet of Everything for tens of billions of devices and connections in the future.”

However, the leaked screenshots and videos show that the design of Xiaomi HyperOS is a mix of OxygenOS, One UI, and iOS. New lock screen clocks and designs, new system font options, widget customization, new wallpaper options, etc., are a few fresh changes to the new operating system.
