A couple of days back, Google released the Android 9 Pie with a number of new features and enhancements. Google Pixel, Pixel 2 and Essential phone have already updated to Android Pie. It seems that other manufactures are busy releasing Android 9.0 Pie update for their devices. HTC, Sony, Nokia, etc. have announced the Pie update for some of their devices.

HTC has officially confirmed Android 9.0 Pie update for HTC U12+, U11+, U11, and U11 Life. The last one is an Android One edition. Among these devices, U11 was launched with Android Nougat and later updated to Oreo. We have no information about other HTC phones that get the Pie update.

There is no chance to get Android Pie update for older phones like HTC 10, though it was upgraded to Oreo. However, users can expect custom ROMs like LineageOS 16, which will be based on Android 9.0 (Pie).

Though no mention about the ETA (expected time of arrival), the OEM will announce the time frames for Android Pie roll-out in due course. It seems that newest phones, such as U 12+ might receive the update first.

Android 9.0 Pie is smarter, simpler and more powerful than ever. Gesture-based navigation, Adaptive battery for long battery life, Adaptive brightness, Enhanced security, Refreshed notification, App Actions, App Slices, etc. are some of the best features of Android 9.0 Pie.
