OnePlus 6 is one of the few flagship devices currently updated to Android 9 Pie. OnePlus is always been quick with rolling out latest software update to their flagship devices. After releasing OxygenOS 9.0 and a bug fixing OxygenOS 9.0.1 stable update, the OEM starts rolling out OxygenOS Open Beta 5 for OnePlus 6 with UI changes and October security patch.
OnePlus 6 runs on previous OxygenOS Open Beta 4 will get the Open Beta 5 OTA update soon. If you are on stable channel and want to install the Open Beta, then you can download and install OxygenOS Open Beta 5 (link below) manually and experience latest features.

If you have not received the OTA notification for the update yet, you can use the Oxygen Updater app to get the update right now or download OxygenOS Open Beta 5 full OTA file (link below) and update manually. Inexperienced users are recommended to wait for the OTA update.

Installation Instructions
Download the OxygenOS Open Beta 5 ROM zip file [here] and transfer it your OnePlus 6’s storage.
Open the ‘Settings’ app on the phone, then go to ‘System updates’, and then tap on the top right corner icon.
In the menu, tap on Local upgrade, then choose the upgrade package and then immediately upgrade. Your phone will start the upgrade process. Once done, select Reboot system now. (Source)
