Huawei P20 Pro was released in March 2018 with Android Oreo 8.1 and Huawei’s EMUI 8.1 software. In addition, it was one of the assured devices to get company’s GPU Turbo Acceleration technology. Now both variants of P 20 Pro (single SIM/CTL-L09 and dual SIM/CTL-L29) start getting the GPU Turbo Acceleration update in some region along with August 2018 security patch.
Recently, Huawei rolled out GPU Turbo Acceleration update for Mate 10 Pro. It is expected that Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Lite, Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Lite, Nova 2i, Huawei P Smart, Huawei Y9 2018, Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro, Huawei P10 and P10 Plus will also receive the GPU Turbo Acceleration technology soon.
GPU Turbo is a hardware-software integration and graphics processing acceleration technology, which will improve the graphics processing efficiency by 60 percent while reducing the SoC energy consumption by 30 percent. This new technology will ensure smooth gaming experience on Huawei’s phone. It’s recommended that you enable Game acceleration in Game Suite for a better gaming experience.
In addition to the GPU Turbo, the new update also includes August 2018 Android security update for improved system security and bug fixes and system optimizations.
The OTA (over the air) update will hit the device soon. If your device model is CTL-L09, or CTL-L029, check the update manually by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates > check for the new firmware.
You can also try to install the update through Huawei HiCare app. Install the app from Play store, and see any update for your device.
Experienced users can download and install the update manually. All you need Huawei Firmware finder app and knowledge in flashing stock firmware on Huawei or Honor phone.
