The most popular root and universal systemless interface for Android Magisk has updated to version 18.1 with support for older Android 4.2 Jellybean devices, EMUI 9 firmware and Huawei’s Kirin 960 processor. The developer Topjohnwu released stable version of Magisk 18.1 Zip file and Magisk Manager 7.0.0 APK file that you can download from below.
Magisk 18.1 is compatible with Android 4.2 Jellybean, but not all features are available on these devices. Magisk modules are currently not available on Jellybean, but you can use it to root your device. However, all features are active for Android 4.4 Kitkat and above versions.
A welcome feature of Magisk 18.1 is the support for Huawei’s latest EMUI 9 firmware and Kirin 960 processor. Unfortunately, Huawei stopped/blocked bootloder unlock on their devices, so enabling root on EMUI 9 is complicated. There are several unofficial methods, mostly paid solutions, to bypass the block on Huawei devices.
The developer has updated Magisk Manager to version 7.0 with a new UI, support for Android 4.1 and other new features. This app lets you upgrade Magisk to latest version right from your phone, enable root without TWRP recovery, lets you download and install Magisk Modules.
This update will also fix post OTA scripts for A/B devices and reduce memory usages when verifying and signing boot image.
