Xiaomi has released new Android 9 Pie (10.0.2.0.PDIMIFJ) update for its Android One device Mi A2 with December security patch. Recently, the Chinese company upgraded Mi A2 to stable Android 9 Pie and now the new December security patch update fixes several bugs and further improves performance of the device.
Android 9 Pie OTA (over the air) update is now available on Mi A2. You can download the December (V10.0.2.0.PDIMIFJ) security update and install it manually on Mi A2. If no update received, go to ‘Updater’ app and check for the new update manually.
The December update (10.0.2.0.PDIMIFJ) fixes proximity sensor issue on Mi A2, adds finger gestures, includes all the goodies of Android Pie, Adaptive battery and brightness, gesture navigation, recommended apps and action based on context and more.

You can download the OTA update zip file (1.1GB) directly from this link. After downloading the file, install it on the phone via System Updater app.
Alternatively, boot your phone into recovery mode, select apply update from sd card, select the OTA update zip file to flash it.
WARNING: Xiaomi has introduced Rollback protection for Mi A2. It means, once you upgraded to Android 9 Pie, you cannot downgrade to Android Ore. Doing so may affect normal functioning or even brick your device.
