Sony Xperia Z5 has received the new Camera 2.0 update that brings new UI and features to the camera app, but unfortunately, it is not available for other Xperia devices. However, Sony’s Camera 2.0 port is now available unofficially for all Xperia devices with 20.7MP camera, which includes Xperia Z1, Z1 compact, Z2, Z3, and Z3 Compact.

In this guide, we will explain how to install the Xperia Z5 Camera 2.0 port on Xperia Z1, Z1 compact, Z2, Z3, and Z3 Compact. Just like any port, the Z5 camera 2.0 port has requires root access and TWRP custom recovery installed on the phone. Read on to know how to flash the camera 2.0 port on your device.

Thanks to the XDA user jimRnor, the port works well on all Xperia devices with 20.7MP camera, but it is not free from bugs. For example, the front camera force closes when turn to manual mode from superior Auto mode and then turn to superior Auto mode that may fix in the coming update, so stay tuned to the thread.

Note: Before you get start, Xperia Z3+ users need not to flash this port. They can install the apk without any modification.

How to install Xperia Z5 Camera 2.0 on Xperia Z1, Z2 and Z3 (Root Required)

1. Download latest version of the camera 2.0 port zip file [HERE]

2. Boot your Xperia device into TWRP recovery

3. In recovery menu, select ‘Install’, then select the camera 2.0-port zip file and flash it.

4. Once done, reboot your phone.
