The latest MIUI 11 update adds VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) feature on Xiaomi Redmi K20, K20 Pro, and Poco F1. This Wi-Fi-based VoIP service allows users to make phone calls to any mobile number or landline over a Wi-Fi network. Here’s how to use VoWiFi on Xiaomi Poco F1, and Redmi K20/K20 Pro.
Before getting started using the VoWiFi on your device, make sure that your network provider offers the feature. In other words, your network service provider in your area should be activated the VoWiFi service. For example, Airtel and Jio network provides the service in India.
To use VoWiFi on your Poco F1, Redmi K20 and K20 Pro, turn on VoLTE, and Wi-Fi calling in the settings menu.
Go to Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks > operator name > and turn on ‘Use VoLTE’ and ‘Make Calls using WiFi’.
The advantages of Wi-Fi calling are crystal clear voice, and super-fast call connect. If you activate the above two settings in your Poco F1 and Redmi K20 (Pro), Vo-WiFi calls will place automatically.
As said above, to get this feature working on your device, your device should be running on the latest MIUI 11. Check for any available software update by going to Settings > About Phone > System updates > Check for update.
Note that even if your device gets the WiFi calling feature, you can’t use it without your network provider offer the VoLTE service in your area. So check with your provider before using the feature.
