Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie (ZD553KL) and ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite (ZB553KL) variants updated to Android 8.1 Oreo. The update carries the build number WW_15.0400.1809.405 and update to Asus ZenUI 5.0. The update also includes general bug fixes, optimizations and latest security patches. You can download the WW_15.0400.1809.405 update file and install manually on ZenFone 4 Selfie/ Selfie Lite.
The Android 8.1 Oreo (ZenUI 5.0) OTA update starts rolling out with build number 15.0400.1809.405. Since the firmware OTA update roll out is incremental, it will take few hours or even few days/or weeks to reach the notification on all devices. Alternatively, you can download the 15.0400.1809.405 update file and flash manually on ZenFone 4 Selfie (ZD553KL) and Selfie Lite (ZB553KL).
Since there is no chance to get the latest Android 9 Pie update for both ZenFone 4 Selfie and ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite, Android 8.1 Oreo might be the last major software upgrade. All users are recommending updating their device to this version.
If you did not receive the update (WW_15.0400.1809.405) check it manually by going to Settings -> About – > System Update.

Manual Installation Guide:
Note: ASUS has made available full firmware for download, if you cannot install the OTA or if you are out of Wi-Fi coverage area. Suggest to backup data before starting the software update.
Step 1:
Download latest firmware update zip file for ZenFone 4 Selfie (ZD553KL) from here and for ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite (ZB553KL) from here. (Check your SKU version before downloading the firmware)
Step 2:
Double click the downloaded firmware zip file to see another zip file it. If another zip file found inside it, unzip the downloaded firmware zip file
Step 3:
Connect the phone to your PC, move the update zip file to the root directory of your phone’s internal storage and then disconnect the phone from PC. You will see firmware update notification popped up on status bar. Select it and follow steps to update firmware.
After completing the installation, your phone will reboot into the new version. (Source – Asus)
