While WhatsApp employs end-to-end encryption to ensure the privacy and security of your conversations, the ‘Export Chat’ feature poses a potential risk. This feature allows users to save their chats in a ZIP file, which can then be shared with other applications and people. This can be a threat, if your chat contains private or sensitive information. The platform now lets you to protect your personal data by stoping sharing your chat. Here is how to enable this feature.
If you want to prevent others from sharing your WhatsApp chats, whether in one-on-one or group conversations, a new option is now available. By enabling the ‘Advanced chat privacy’ feature, your chats, along with any photos and videos shared within them, cannot be shared to others.
The ‘Advanced chat privacy’ feature improves your privacy on WhatsApp by preventing the export of specific chats that contain private or sensitive information. It also restricts others from downloading photos and videos shared in those conversations. Also, your messages will not be used for AI features like mentioning @Meta AI. This feature is available for both single and group chats.
