Few days back, Xiaomi had invited beta testers for its latest OS update MIUI 10. Xiaomi Mi 6, Redmi Note 5 Pro (India), Redmi Note 5, Mi MIX 2, Mi MIX 2S and Redmi S2 starts getting the MIUI 10 Global Beta update. If you are not joined for the beta program, but want to install the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM on your compatible device, here is how to download and install it.

MIUI 10 is comes with several UI changes and usability features. Improved Recents menu, Full-Screen gestures (no navigation keys), redesigned Volume sliders, revamped Notification toggles, Driving mode, AI camera with Portrait mode, etc. are the main changes of MIUI 10.

If you own any of the above mentioned device and are reasonably techy, then you can try the latest MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 8.6.14 right now and experience the new features that the OS offers.

Note: This is the beta version of the ROM, so is not stable to be used as a daily driver. It includes several bugs, so do not install this build on your primary phone. Backup all data you have on the phone.

How to install MIUI 10 Global Beta on your phone

1. First, you need to download the TWRP image for your phone.

2. Now, you need to download MIUI 10 Global beta ROM for your phone

3. Place the MIUI 10 ROM on your phone’s storage

4. Copy and paste the TWRP image into the ADB installation directory on your PC

5. Switch off the phone and boot into bootloader mode by pressing Power and Volume down keys.

6. Connect your phone to your PC, go to ADB installation directory and execute the below command to boot into TWRP:

fastboot boot /path/to/twrp.img

(Replace /path/to/twrp.img with the actual filename)

7. In TWRP, tap on “Wipe” and then perform factory reset.

8. Once done, tap on “Install”, select the MIUI 10 ROM zip file and flash it.

9. Once done, reboot your phone.

Upon reboot, you can complete the setup and start using MIUI 10 on your Xiaomi smartphone. [Source – XDA]
