[Update] All the OnePlus phones, including the latest OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, has the built-in call recording feature, but it won’t be available for everyone, as it is a region-locked feature. The company recently enabled call-recording in countries like India, China, and other regions where call recording isn’t an offense. Here’s how to enable native call recording on all OnePlus Phones running on the OxygenOS.

If the built-in call recording feature isn’t available in your OnePlus phone, such as the OnePlus 5/5T, OnePlus 6/6T, OnePlus 7/7Pro/7T, and OnePlus 8/8Pro, you can enable it without root access via an ADB shell command. However, ensure that your phone is running on the stock OxygenOS.

It is pointless to mention the benefits of call recording here, but it may not be legal in your country. So, before bringing the call recording function to your OnePlus 6, check that recording your own phone calls is legal in your country. The below guide requires ADB and Fastboot driver setup on your PC.

By issuing a simple ADB shell command, you can enable the built-in call recording on OnePlus 6. Thanks to XDA senior member Shadowstep, the command should also work with OnePlus 5 and 5T.

Note: Keep in mind that, you need to issue the command again after every reboot. To get the feature permanently, you need root on the phone.
