Google has released the second developer preview of Android P as public beta. What is great with this release is that the Android P Beta is not just for Google Pixel phones, it will also available for many non-Google devices, including Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. You can download and install Android P Beta ROM on Mi MIX 2S right now.
If you own Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and would like to install Android P Beta on it, then below is the Android P Beta system image (Fastboot ROM) and installation instruction. Once installed, you can discover the new features that Google has prepared for the upcoming Android 9.0.
For your information, Android P public will also be available for OnePlus 6 (coming soon), Sony Xperia XZ2, Nokia 7 Plus (Android One), Vivo X21, Vivo 21UD, OPPO R15 Pro, and Essential PH-1. If you own any of these devices, you can test out the new OS on it.
Before start, note that Android P beta (Developer preview 2) is not a stable ROM. Some features may be missing or may not work. Also, do not forget to backup your data before upgrading to Android P public beta.
Android P Beat Installation Instruction for Mi MIX 2S

1. Download Mi Flash tool [here] and Android P Beta Fastboot ROM [here] to your PC
2. Turn off the phone, press Volume Down + Power button together to boot into Fastboot mode.
3. Connect the device to the PC via a USB cable
4. Double click the ROM zip file (.tgz) to decompress it and copy the file folder path.
5. Run the Mi Flash tool, paste the decompressed file path into the address bar and click the Refresh button.
6. Click on the Flash button to start installing the ROM. Wait until the process completes and your phone should reboot automatically to new Android version.
