The most popular community-driven custom ROM, Lineage OS is now officially available for Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro. Experienced users can download the latest LineageOS 16.0 build for the device, which will bring stock Android 9 Pie, and an ad-free experience on Redmi Note 7 Pro.
The Lineage OS development team has recently updated the LineageOS 16.0 ROM with several changes and new features. Also, the team has added few new devices in the LineageOS 16.0 support list, which include Redmi Note 7 Pro (violet), Zenfone Max Pro M1 (X00TD), Huawei Honor 5X (kiwi) and YU Yuphoria (lettuce).
Installing LineageOS 16 custom ROM on any phone isn’t a too complicated process. All you bootloader unlock on the phone and replace the stock recovery with a custom TWRP recovery.
Xiaomi officially allows bootloader unlock on Redmi Note 7 Pro. Also, official TWRP is available for the device. After unlocking the bootloader, you can flash TWRP and then sideload the LineageOS 16.0 zip file via TWRP.
Before start installation, note that the status of the LOS 16.0 build is nightly. It means, the ROM is unstable and some features may not work as expected. However, previous experience shows that the LOS Nightly builds are almost stable and can use as a daily driver.
