Microsoft has released a prerelease version Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 users. Originally included as part of Windows 8.1, Internet Explorer 11 Release Preview for Windows 7 offers lots of under the hood changes including improved performance, faster page load times, infinite tabs per window, tighter security and support for new web standards such as WebGL and HTML5.
The updated JavaScript engine and the ability to decode JPEG files and render text using the GPU (graphic processor) make IE11 to display webpages more quickly on your screen. Microsoft claims that the performance improvements included in IE11 makes it 30% faster than other browsers. Also, it delivers around 9 percent faster performance than its predecessor IE 10 and 5 percent faster than the Developer Preview build of IE11.
Microsoft explains:
“IE11 Release Preview for Windows 7 adds new user controls for the Standard Delivery Profile for Closed Captioning. With the new control, accessible from the Internet Options menu, users can customize how captions appear in the browser, even overriding the default styling provided by the video source”.
