If you want to taste Google’s chocolate-milk cookie-flavored OS on your Razer Phone, then you can download and install the developer preview of Android 8.1 Oreo on it.
Razer Phone was launched in November 2017 for game lovers with great hardware specifications and game booster features like 120Hz display. Since its launch, the company released three Nougat updates for Razer Phone to enhance its performance. Razer Phone owners can also expect Android 8.1 Oreo update soon.
At the same time, tech-savvy owners of this device can install the Android 8.1 Oreo Developer Preview factory images on Razer Phone and experience the features right now. Interested users can download and install the Android 8.1 Oreo DP1 from the download link below.
To install this build, your device’s bootloader must be unlocked. Keep in mind that the process may void your device’s warranty. In addition, installing this factory image will erase all data from the device, so take care.
Keep in mind that, users cannot use Android Pay and other apps that required some sort of security with the developer preview build.
The company has also confirmed that the Oreo Developer Preview will not carry an OTA (over-the-air) update. Once the stable version of the OS released, users must manually flash to that factory image, which will be made available upon release.
