It has been over a month since Oneplus rolled out OxygenOS 5.0 (based on Android 8.0 Oreo) update to OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, now the company released another update, OxygenOS 5.0.1 with added features, bug fixes and stability improvements. The new update adds support for aptX HD Bluetooth streaming, Adaptive mode screen calibration, includes December 2017 security patches and more.
The OxygenOS 5.0.1 OTA (over-the-air) update, which weighs around 134 MB, is now seeding to all OnePlus 3/3T device. However, since the OTA update is rolled in phases it will take a few days to reach on all devices. Some of the new features, such as the aptX HD audio streaming have already been available through the OxygenOS Open Beta channel.
Below is what is new in OxygenOS 5.0.1:
– Added support for aptX HD
– Added Wi-Fi hotspot device manager
– Added “adaptive mode” screen calibration
– Updated Android security patch to December
– General bug fixes and stability improvements
To install the OxygenOS 5.0.1 OTA update, your device should be running on the official OxygenOS 5.0. If you have not received the update yet, check it by going to Settings > System Updates > Check for updates.
If you prefer OTA update over manual installation, but cannot wait for the OTA, then you can use the Opera PN app and change the location to Germany or Canada to get the OTA update early.
