Definitely one of the great things about Android OS is its flexibility in customization. The sheer number of custom ROMs, mods and tools available free to users can help them improve how their device functions and works overall. However, there are numerous people having fair knowledge with flashing ROM, or personalize the device with custom kernel. For such people, who wish to have some advanced features on their device, there is an Android app called eXperience Pro.

The eXperience Pro gives users the ability to apply various tweaks on the fly and independent of the running kernel. For example, you can tweak your device’s kernel to activate the timed out screen by just touching on the screen – a much more convenient than pressing the power button. However, the app requires root access.

As you may know, tweaking the kernel can have a massive effect on the speed and performance of your Android device, because kernel is the key element that connects the hardware and the software.

Currently eXperience Pro gives following tweak modules:

Touchwake: When the screen times out one can simply touch the screen to activate it.

Music Control: Control the music playback with the volume buttons. Long press of the volume up button skips to the next song, long press of the volume down button skips back to the previous song, etc.

CPU Freq Control: Adjust the minimum and maximum CPU frequency step.

CPU Control: Add and remove CPU frequency steps and adjust the voltages for the different CPU frequency steps.

Volume Control: Adjust the output volume of the headphones and device internal speaker and the input volume of the camcorder and handset microphones.

Note that this app won’t support all devices and kernel, so first check whether your device and currently running kernel is compatible with the app. For that, you can use eXperience Test app.

Interested users head over to the Google Play store to download the app ($2.5).
