One of the new features of Sony’s flagship device Xperia Z is its power management option called Battery STAMINA Mode. This mode lets you extend the standby time of your device by more than four times. This is done by turning of unnecessary background activities when you turn off the screen or when the device is not in use.
As you all know, the battery life continues to be one of the biggest concerns for many Android users and this is something Sony has been working hard to improve the battery life. You can read more about Sony’s STAMINA Mode here.
There are several third-party apps available on the Play Store that works similar to Stamina mode; however, if you would like to get Xperia Z’s STAMINA Mode on your Xperia device, here is how it is.
XDA Senior Member Aeron Sagar has ported this feature on older Xperia devices. It has been tested on many devices such as Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia Ion, Xperia Acro S, etc. This compatible with a deodexed Jelly Bean firmware and your device must be rooted. It works on both the locked and unlocked bootloaders.
Procedure:
Step 1. Download the Stamina Mode zip file from here and extract it. Then, transfer the contents to your Sony Xperia’s SD card.
Step 2. Now open the file manager (you can use Root Explorer) and locate the app folder.
Step 3. Copy the app folder and paste it to the sys/app directory.
Step 4. Find the bin folder and paste it to the sys/bin directory.
Step 5. Move the framework.jar file to the sys/framework directory.
After completing the above steps, reboot your device. Once the device reboots, you will find the Stamina Mode app in the App Drawer.
Important Note: Make a backup of your entire data before doing above steps. [Via – XDA]
