Lenovo ZUK Z1, which was launched with Cyanogen OS onboard, gets Android 7.1.1 Nougat update via official LineageOS 14.1 custom ROM. The development team just released the first LineageOS 14.1 nightly build for ZUK Z1 (code-named ham), so if you want to experience the new Android Nougat on your phone right now, you can install the build. If you are interested to try the LineageOS on your Lenovo ZUK Z1, check out the below installation guide.
Before you get start with the installation, keep in mind that the below given installation instruction is for Lenovo ZUK Z1 with Cyanogen OS. Do not try it with ZUK Z1 with ZUK UI. In addition, your device should have root access and latest version of TWRP (3.0+) custom recovery installed on it.
Android 7.1.1 Nougat (LineageOS 14.1) brings various new features to Zuk Z1. Users can experience multi-window mode, enhanced notification system, data saver mode, night mode, one-handed mode, better battery life, latest security patches and more. However, note that the status of the ROM is nightly, so it might have many bugs that have not been fixed yet. So do not install on a regularly using device.
Important: Before proceeding with below steps, back up all data you have on the phone to a safe location. Also, ensure at least 50% battery charge remaining on the phone.
Note: Once again we remind you that the below method is for Lenovo ZUK Z1 with Cyanogen OS. Do not try it on ZUK Z1 with ZUK UI.
