The Google Photos app is generally a ‘Gallery cum Cloud storage’ app, but it has many other features on its shelf for you. Google recently added a new document crop extension to the Photos app that helps you to crop images of a document into a proper document proportion.
Google Photos ‘Crop document’ is a welcome feature, as the usual rectangle or square crop option won’t help you crop documents in the correct proportion. Also, you don’t need to rely on third-party apps to just cropping documents.
Here is how to use the new Crop document extension of Google Photos app.
- Open your Google Photos app > and select an image of a document.
- Tap on the edit button > tap on the extension button (bottom right of the display) > and then tap on Crop document option.
- Using the free-hand cropping tool remove unwanted area from the image and then tap on done.
- You image is cut and straightened into a correct proportion of a document.
Not only for photos of documents, but you can also use this feature with your other photos.
