WhatsApp is the best and most popular messaging app that offers several usability features and privacy features. Broadcast is one of my favorite features in WhatsApp that allows us to send messages to multiple people/contacts in one go without using groups. Here’s how to use the feature.
To send messages to multiple people without using groups, follow the below steps. Note that with the broadcast feature, you can only send messages to people who are in your address book/contact list.
- Open WhatsApp and from Chats tab, tap on three vertical dots menu (top right corner).
- Tap on New broadcast, select your contacts and tap the tick to create a broadcast list.
- Type your message, add an image or video (if need) and send it to your broadcast list.
Unlike sending messages through the group, in broadcast, the recipients won’t see each other, and they’ll only get your message. It works just like the BCC (blind carbon copy) feature of email.
Since WhatsApp is a potentially sensitive app, the company (Facebook) is always ready to improve users’ privacy on the platform. The broadcast feature not only lets you send messages to multiple contacts in one go, but it will also protect your privacy.
