Samsung Galaxy S4’s S-View Cover feature lets you view a variety of phone status such as battery status, time, date, currently playing music information, and other phone statuses through a window on the cover, if the cover is closed. S-View Cover utilizes the Hall Effect sensor in the S4 to detect the cover open and close status. If you are a fan of this feature, but do not own a Galaxy S4, don’t worry.
Inspired by Samsung’s S View Cover feature, an XDA forum member Hatroid has released an app called S View that gives similar functionality to any android phone that support a flip-style magnetic cover with window.
S View by HatRoidis will display various phone status such as incoming caller ID, time and date, missed calls and messages, currently playing music information, and custom text when the flip cover close state. Also, you can change the position of layouts (up/down/right/left) according to your cover’s shape.
S View App is very simple to use. Just install the application, start the service, and customize the layout position according to your cover shape. If you want, you can also set the delay time to prevent any mistake in triggering S View.
If you like to implement Galaxy S4’s S-View Cover feature to your phone, head over to this XDA link and download the app. A paid version is also available on Play Store. [source – XDA]
