Google has announced Android Wear, a version of Android that is designed specifically for wearable devices such as smartwatches. This new operating system is designed to work with all phones running on Android 4.3 or higher with the latest version of Google Play Services (Google Play Services 5.0) is installed.

To check whether your Android phone is able to work with an Android Wear powered smartwatch or not, open your browser on your phone and type g.co/WearCheck in the address bar. The service will instantly display whether your phone is compatible with Android Wear or not.

For your information, Android Wear connects your Android phone to your wearable (smartwatch), so you can pause, play, and skip music tracks or quickly respond to text messages from right from your watch.
