Huawei Honor 4/4X owners can now update their device to Android 7.1 Nougat with MoKee 7.1 Nightly (official) custom ROM. The AOSP based, community-driven MoKee team has released MoKee 7.1 nightly build for the two-year-old Honor 4/4x (code named cherry) that upgrade the device to Android 7.1.1 and brings new features and performance enhancements. Check out the installation guide. Of course, it goes without saying you will need TWRP recovery and root access on the device.
Huawei Honor 4/4X was launched in 2014, so the chance for getting an official Android 7.0 Nougat update is very rare, though the phone is capable of. However, if you are excited to experience the Android 7.1.1 Nougat on your Honor 4X, then the best alternative is MoKee 7.1 official custom ROM.
In this guide, we explain how to install MoKee 7.1 (Android 7.1.1 Nougat) on Huawei Honor 4/4X (code named cherry). However, we remind you that the present status of the ROM is Nightly, which means the ROM is experimental and may have several bugs.
Note: To get MoKee 7.1 (official) running on your Honor 4/4X, you will need root access and latest version of TWRP custom recovery installed on it.

Note: Backup every data you have on the phone before proceeding with below steps.
2. Boot your device into custom TWRP recovery (switch off the phone, press Volume Up + Power button together)
3. In TWRP recovery, select Backup button to create a backup of your current firmware, just in case. Then, select Wipe, then Factory Reset and wipe cache, system and data.
4. Now, select Install, navigate to /sdcard and select the ROM zip package. Follow the on-screen notices to install the package. Install Gapps zip file as well.
Once installation has finished, return to the main menu and select Reboot, then System. The device will now boot into Android 7.1.1 Nougat (Mokee 7.1). Set up and enjoy. (Source – MoKee)
