A slick Google Reader for Chrome and Android Smartphone

Google Reader is my favorite RSS news fetcher and also one of the best in the world to browse through feeds but it‘s interface is little dull and too wording.

Like me, if you thinking a way to give a visual boost to your reader and want to read your favorite feeds in style, you might want to check out the FeedSquares Chrome browser extension.

FeedSquares is a simple Google Chrome extension (and also for Android Smartphone) that gives your Google Reader a visual boost. All your subscriptions appear as colored blocks and display the number of unread items.

Feed-Square

The basic idea is very simple: the extension displays all feeds from your Google Reader account as colored squares on your screen. Each square shows the name of the RSS feed and an unread count.

Click on square, and all articles in the feed pop up at the bottom of the window. Click on the article you like, and it opens in a preview window. You can then read the article’s excerpt as well as share it using Google Reader’s sharing features.Interested readers can install FeedSquares to their Chrome at Chrome extension page or on their Android Smartphone at source.
