Finally Moto M (XT1663) in India starts getting the official Android 7.0 Nougat update (build number XT1663_S356_170621_ROW). As the OTA (over the air) update is rolling out in phases, not all will get the update immediately. Users need to wait few more days to get the Android Nougat update on their Moto M. Once you update your device to Android 7.0, you will feel a more fast, fluid and touch responsive Moto M.

Android Nougat update brings various new features and enhancements to Moto M (XT1663). The update brings new features like Google Duo video calling app, redesigned notification panel, and improved Doze mode, as well as latest includes latest Android security patches, various optimizations, and general bug fixes.

The update comes with build number XT1663_S356_170621_ROW (for Indian Moto M) and weighs around 1.5GB. To install the Nougat OTA update your Moto M (Indian variant) should be on build number XT1663_S141_170607_ROW.

Also, for a successful installation requires at least 50% battery charge remaining on your phone. The update weighs around 1.5GB, so it is recommended to connect to a Wi-Fi or LTE network.

Installation Instruction

The OTA (over the air) update notification for the Android 7.0 Nougat update will reach on your device. If not, follow the steps below to manually update your phone.

– Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.

– Select “About phone”.

– Select “System updates”.

– Select “Yes, I’m in”. After the software is downloaded, select “Install now”.

– After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically. Your phone is now updated.
